Using Lasers for Oregon’s Ice Glaciers

Johnny Ryan and Markus Allgaier, both from the University of Oregon have carried out impressive research. To collect and analyze data on glaciers, they utilize a laser device that estimates the composition of melted ice. The importance of glaciers is that they provide fresh water to mountain streams for salmon and trout habitats and protection from drought.
