See Your Naturescape in a Beyond the Lawn Video!
Beyond the Lawn's goal is to inspire anyone in charge of an outdoor space to try out "naturescaping" practices that protect soil, rivers and streams in Western Oregon and Southwest Washington. As part of this effort, we are producing a short series of videos about local naturescaping projects to show how great these practices are, not only for water and soil, but also for our own relationships with our outdoor spaces.
We are seeking gardeners in the Willamette Valley and Southwest Washington who are willing to share projects where they:
- Replaced a lawn with native plants
- Used container gardening to add native plants to a small space or paved area
- Removed pavement and replaced it with native plants
If some non-native plants are also part of your project, it's okay! We want to focus on native plants but understand that non-native species also have their place and purpose in your garden.
