An initiative is underway in Oregon and several other states that aims to upgrade outdated culverts with fish-friendly bridges.

Historically, narrow culverts made from metal pipes or concrete create barriers have caused population decline among salmon and other fish species that migrate from the ocean to freshwater streams for spawning. No longer!

The transformation will allow water and fish to flow more freely, aiding the health and vitality of aquatic ecosystems.
