White Dutch Clover

An excellent alternative for those who want a soft, verdant lawn without having to deal with all that grass business. White Dutch Clover was a popular lawn option prior to the 50s, and is experiencing a comeback thanks to its quick growth, drought tolerance, and low maintenance. Look for a new variety called “miniclover” which stays shorter and needs less mowing. On top of all that, it’s highly attractive to pollinators, bringing bees and butterflies into your garden. Just don’t count on it in temperatures below 32 degrees and snow. In these conditions, it will die back, but will return in spring. Works well when blended with grass seed.
