Beavers Help Slow Wildfires

You may already know that beavers have many positive impacts on their local river, but did you know that they help slow the spread of wildfires?
They do this by forming ponds and digging canals, and their dams act as fireproof shelters for plants and animals. Burns in Arizona, Phoenix, and here in Oregon have shown time and time again that the area around beaver dams offers a green oasis after the fire.
