Harris Beach State Recreation Area is located on the rugged south coast of Brookings, Oregon. Take in the view of the sea stacks dotting the ocean, including one of the largest islands off the Oregon coast. Bird Island (also called Goat Island) is a standalone offshore rock populated by harbor seals and seabirds. The island is managed by the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge and is off-limits to the public, but its splendor be enjoyed from a distance! Harris Beach offers miles of sandy areas that leads to hiking trails, whale sightseeing, fishing, and camp sites.
